Bluffton University’s campus has been booming with professionals and alumni from the surrounding areas this March.
Four events in two weeks provided extensive opportunities for Bluffton students to interact and gain practical experience and advice from those already experienced.
These events included:
• the Employer Expo,
• Institute of Management Accountants Lima chapter meeting,
• Bluffton Education Organization Alumni Night, and
• Mock Interview Night.
The Bluffton University art department will present the 50th Juried Student Exhibition from April 3-28 in the Grace Albrecht Gallery in Sauder Visual Arts Center. The exhibition, which is free and open to the public, will showcase work created this academic year by students in university art classes or supervised independent studies.
Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Senior JAYLEN VON SOSSAN (Ottawa-Ottawa-Glandorf) has been named the Heartland Conference Pitcher of the Week. He is the first Beaver to be named an HCAC Player of the Week since Michael Alexander was Hitter of the Week on April 13, 2015.
Von Sossan went 1-0 with a spotless 0.00 ERA in 8.2 innings. He fanned seven and walked just one while holding the opposition to a .194 batting average. The senior standout tossed 7.2 innings and gave up just one unearned run on Saturday, helping Bluffton clinch the Heartland Conference series against Anderson.
In a 1998 edition of the Bluffton alumni magazine, then known as “Scope,” an image of a grinning little girl standing confidently in Bluffton apparel can be found. Tessa Short, 18 months at the time of the photo, returned to campus 18 years later to continue a fourth generation legacy.
“I think it’s really cool to have so many family members go here,” she said. “I think it is a special bond.”
