“Beauty Is Something to Love” will be Jeff Gundy’s topic for Bluffton University’s Civic Engagement Forum on Tuesday, March 28, in Yoder Recital Hall. His 11 a.m. presentation is free and open to the public.
The Forum revolves around Bluffton’s 2016-17 civic engagement theme of, “Creativity, the Arts and Civic Life.”
Each year, the university focuses on a significant contemporary issue that is related to its mission and becomes the subject of cross-disciplinary exploration.
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Junior Brittany Huff (Clayton/Northmont) has been named the Heartland Conference Hitter of the Week after leading Bluffton to a 6-2 mark over the final eight games from the Rebel Spring Games.
Huff blistered the opposition with a red-hot.522 batting average, going 12-of-23 at the plate. The two-sport standout put together a ridiculous 1.043 slugging percentage with six doubles and two home runs. She also contributed 11 RBI and scored nine time, finishing with a .593 on-base percentage.
The Ohio Northern baseball game with area-rival Bluffton, scheduled for Tuesday at Wander Field, has been postponed due to the impending snowstorm expected to hit the area on Monday.
The community is invited to the culminating event for Bluffton University’s annual Civic Engagement Day. “Encore! A Celebration of Creativity and the Arts” will begin at 8 p.m. on March 29 in Yoder Recital Hall.
The event is free and open to the public and will feature a variety of creative arts including music, scenes from “Demo” a play written by senior Brianna Lugibihl, excerpts from “Beaver Monologues” and poetry readings by “Bridge” literary journal writers.
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Bluffton University baseball team capped off an exciting week at the Gene Cusic Classic with a 6-3 mark following a split on the final day in Florida. Bluffton held off Moravian 17-14 in a four-hour marathon before dropping a 19-9 decision to Wheaton College.
