DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Bluffton University track and field teams started the first day of their two-meet weekend Friday at Defiance College, competing in the Dick Small Memorial Invitational, where athletes not qualified for Saturday’s All-Ohio Championship performed superbly.
Bluffton University students shared stories of life-altering experiences from Guatemala, Spain and Washington, D.C., during two Cross-Cultural Forums held Jan. 31.
Eleven students spent the fall 2016 semester in Guatemala. The group lived for the first nine weeks in Guatemala City, taking Spanish and Latin American history classes at Central America Study and Service (CASAS) which is affiliated with the Guatemalan Mennonite Church.
Each year, Bluffton University food and nutrition majors are asked to think outside of the recipe card to develop nutritious meals for Lunch and Learn.
The healthy-eating series, which is open to the community, includes a 20-30 minute cooking demonstration, nutritional information and a full meal. This year, the students are getting some extra help thanks to a sponsorship from The Food Store, located on Main Street in Bluffton.
DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's basketball team used a balanced scoring effort of four Beavers in double figures to derail host Defiance College, 81-68, on a snowy Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017. Bluffton improved to 18-4 overall and 12-3 in the Heartland Conference on a night when Defiance fell to 12-10 and 9-6 in the HCAC.
DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College men rallied from a 15-point second half deficit to defeat visiting Bluffton University 75-70 on a snowy Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017. Bluffton dipped to 12-10 overall and 5-10 in the Heartland Conference, while Defiance upped its mark to 6-16 and 5-10 in the HCAC.
Dr. Sherri Winegardner, director of nursing and associate professor of nursing, will present the Colloquium "Health Care: Is it a System? A Systems Thinking Concept Analysis and the Role of the Nurse” at 4 p.m., Friday, Feb. 24, in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall.
