BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Beavers fell just short in a nail-biting 67-65 loss to the visiting Manchester University Spartans on Wednesday, Jan. 11. Bluffton dipped to 1-5 in the HCAC (8-5 overall) while the Spartans improved to 3-4 (4-9 overall).
Phil Sugden, assistant professor of art at Bluffton University, and Carole Elchert, assistant professor of communication at University of Findlay, will preview their documentary “Activismo: Art and Dissidence in Cuba” for Forum at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24 in Yoder Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Dr. J. Alexander Sider, associate professor of religion and Harry and Jean Yoder Scholar in Bible and Religion, will present the Colloquium, “If 'God Obviously Makes No Difference to the Universe,' then ‘What Is the Point of Being a Christian?’” on Jan. 27.
The title of the presentation combines quotes from two Dominican theologians, Herbert McCabe and Timothy Radcliffe, both who have affected Sider’s thinking on the relationship between God and the world.
His presentation is free and open to the public beginning at 4 p.m. in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall.
BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women’s basketball team took on Anderson University and pulled out the win as they methodically marched to a 65-48 victory despite a sluggish start. The Beavers improved to 10-2 overall and 4-1 in the Heartland Conference. The Ravens slipped to 5-8 on the season, including a 2-4 mark in the HCAC.
