BLUFFTON, Ohio - Senior guard Austin Rohde (Shelby) has been named the Heartland Conference Player of the Week after leading Bluffton to a 2-0 mark and tourney championship at the McDonald’s Holiday Tournament on New Years Eve.
Rohde averaged 19 points per game on 60 percent from the field, earning tournament MVP honors for his work in the Sommer Center. The senior was perfect from the charity stripe (6-6), and also averaged three rebounds and two assists per game.
The Bluffton University men's basketball team rallied late for their 10th McDonald's Holiday Tournament title in the past 13 years when the Beavers downed a talented Muskingum squad, 83-79, on Saturday, Dec. 31. Muskingum slipped to 8-3, while Bluffton will head into the New Year with an 8-2 mark.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's basketball team took advantage of its pent up energy after 10 days off when the Beavers rolled to a 50-22 half-time spread en route to the 85-64 victory. Bluffton improved to 7-1 overall while Wooster slipped to 1-9 on the season.
