Sometimes, it's not about how you start, it's how you finish.
Despite the 20-0 lead going into the 2nd quarter, Delphos Jefferson found a way to make the game interesting. However, the Pirates were able to close the door and win their 3rd consecutive game to start the season, 37-28.
Bluffton has a new doctor in town, but he's not new to Bluffton.
Dr. Sam Heiks, M.D., has joined the Celebration of Health practice as a family medicine physician, according to Dr. Terry Chappell, M.D., of Celebration of Health.
Dr. Heiks is currently accepting new patients of all ages. He is trained as a family physician, is interested in integrative medicine and has a special interest in prevention of illness.

The Bluffton University football team found its stride in the second half, but #22 Trine University held on for a 41-27 victory over the Beavers on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011. The Thunder stayed perfect at 2-0, while Bluffton slipped to 0-2.
The Bluffton University men's and women's cross country team competed at the Defiance Duals Invitational, hosted by Defiance College on Saturday, Sept. 10. Lingering evidence of a rainy week made for a slow and sloppy course as the Bluffton women finished second behind host Defiance College and the men third behind Defiance and Olivet College.

The Bluffton University women's soccer team defeated Goshen 4-2 in its home opener on Saturday, Sept. 10. Bluffton improved to 2-1, while the Maple Leafs fell to 2-2 following their loss to the Beavers.
The Friends of the Bluffton Public Library group will holds its fall book sale from Sept. 22-27. A special book sale preview for Friends of the Library members will take place on Sept. 22 from 6-8 p.m. and membership applications will also be available at the door.
Book sale hours for the public are Sept. 23 through Sept. 26 during regular library hours and Sept. 27 from 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The library and Friends group will also be offering additional activities on Saturday, Sept. 24, in conjunction with the community's Fall Festival.
My son wrote this last year for English class at Trinity Lutheran School in Jenera. I thought it was very appropriate for the 9/11 anniversary. I think people should read it and realize our heroes are not football or basketball stars. They are ordinary people like you and me. It brings a smile to my face every time I read it so I thought it should be shared with the Bluffton community.
