Apollo Career Center Carpentry and Construction and Equipment Technology classes are putting the finishing touches on Apollo's student-built house.

Open houses will be held June 3, from 1-3 p.m. The stone and vinyl ranch is is located on a wooded lot in Cridersville at 723 Briarwood. The interior includes three bedrooms, two full baths, Granite countertops and custom cabinets. It will be offered at public auction Saturday, June 23, at 10 a.m.

Bridge Hospice Bereavement Services, Findlay, will be hosting its annual bereavement camp for children, Camp S.T.A.R., June 11-14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Brugeman Lodge at Riverbend Park in Findlay.

Camp S.T.A.R., which stands for Special Times Always Remembered, is a four-day bereavement camp for children ages 6-12 who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Campers participate in fun, traditional camp activities combined with grief and loss education. Together, campers realize they are not alone with some of the questions and feeling they have been facing.

Bluffton students interested in participating in sports next year can have their physicals taken starting today from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Today's physicals are for grades 10 through 12.

High school seniors are encouraged to arrive by 4:15 p.m. Eleventh graders by 5 p.m. and tenth graders by 5:45 p.m.

Boys' physicals will take place at the Bluffton Medical Center, 161 Garau St. in the Woodruff offices.

Girls' physicals will take place at Bluffton Physicians, 132 Garau St. in Dr. Shelly's office.

Bluffton University will offer a three-week workshop on campus and in Piqua and Archbold during July to help participants strengthen their Excel skills and develop understanding of core financial statements.

Bluffton school board will act on four teacher resignations at the May 21 board meeting. Teachers resigning or retiring are:

Bluffton High School girls' track team added another significant piece of hardware to the BHS trophy case as they won the Liberty Benton District III track meet Saturday.

The girls team scored 92 points to edge second place Waynesfield with 88. Third was Carey with 71.4 and fourth, Columbus Grove with 58.

Lewis C. Gossard

Lewis C. Gossard, 87, of Bluffton, died at 4:10 p.m. May 19, 2012, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 29, 1924, in Roundhead Township to Myrel E. and Roxie M. King Gossard. On Dec. 22, 1945 he married Bernice Crawfis and she preceded him in death on Aug. 22, 2005.

Mr. Gossard retired from Hobbs Trucking Co., Findlay, and has also worked at Cooper Tire, Findlay. He was a member of the Vance Street Roadrunners.

Adaline "Dolly" Deeds, 74, of Beaverdam died at 8:20 p.m. at her residence.

She was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Washington Township, Michigan, to Clarence and Theresa Diveto Cain. On Jan. 1, 1996 she married Donald Deeds and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2009.

Adaline was a homemaker. She was a member of the Moose and Eagles in Lima.

The Cottonwood Jam String Band, consisting of Marty Clayton, Cole Christiansen, Spencer Cunningham and Renata Burg will perform on the Bluffton Cultural Affairs Committee's town hall concert series at 7 p.m., Sunday, May 20.

The band plays a blend of traditional Old Time Appalachian, Folk, and Dance music for concerts, parties, contra/square dances, weddings, and just about anything else.
