Apollo Career Center recognized Zachary Justus, Construction and Equipment Technology graduate from Bluffton as the outstanding senior in his career-technical program.

He has been awarded a GROB Systems, Inc./Apollo Educational Foundation Scholarship.

Each scholarship is named for the scholarship sponsor, and is comprised of trade-related tools to assist students in the pursuit of their educational and career goals.

Carol A. Reigle, 79 died June 2, 2013 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.

With the 11th Annual Farmer’s Market in full swing, Citizens National Bank encourages all Bluffton residents to take advantage of the locally grown, fresh produce offered by area farmers and community members.

The 2013 Summer Strings program will begin on Tuesday, June 4, according to Rachael Lewis of the Bluffton Music Boosters.  The summer strings program is for those students wishing to begin to learn or to continue to play their instruments during the summer months. 

The registration form for the summer program can be found attached to the bottom of this post.

The practice schedule will be Tuesdays June 4, June 11, June 18, July 2, July 9 and July 16.  The schedule includes practice for all age groups and includes fiddling.

Bluffton swim team practice starts this week and kids of all ages are invited to participate.

Parents are strongly encouraged to attend the parent meeting on Tuesday, June 4 from 6 p.m.  unit 7 p.m.

The team is currently seeking members for the board of directors and are actively seeking parents to fill the positions of President and Secretary of the board. 

Additionally, volunteers are always needed.  The Bluffton Swim Team will be the host to area swim championships this year.

There will be something for everyone at the Shannon Theatre. Three movies are starting on Friday, June 7 and playing through Thursday, June 13.  One of them even takes place in Ohio. 

Fast and Furious (PG13) will be shown every evening at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Epic (PG) will be shown on Saturday and Sunday during the 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. matinees.

Gibsonburg will be shown at 4 p.m on Friday and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  Gibsonburg will also be shown on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Bluffton Elementary School has released its 4th quarter honor roll for the 2012-2013 school year.

The Village of Pandora will once again be hosting it town wide garage sale.  The sale will be Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8.  There will be over 50 garage sales taking place in and around Pandora on these days.

The annual event is sponsored by Friends of the Library.

Community meals have been scheduled for Thursday, June 6 and Thursday, June 20. The meals are free and open to the public.

All meals are at 6 p.m. at the Bluffton Senior Center.

St. Mary's Catholic Church will be serving the June 6 meal with Bluffton Trinity United Methodist serving the June 20 meal.

All donations collected at the meals will go the Bluffton Food Pantry.
