Northwest Physical Therapy and Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio have partnered together for more than two decades to provide rehab services to Bluffton and the surrounding area.  October is National Physical Therapy month and a chance to highlight this local partnership of Neighbors Helping Neighbors.

Former Bluffton pastor, Rev. Dan U. Dalke, 93, died in his home in Inman, Kansas, on Sept. 29, 2014. He was born June 27, 1921, in Inman, Kansas, to John and Sara Dalke. He married Edna Franz on Jan. 22, 1943, and together they had seven children.

The Bluffton Lions Club will meet from 11:45 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 7 on the third floor of the Bluffton town hall.11:45 – 1:00p.m. Lunch will be provided by Henry’s Restaurant, tat a cost of $8 per person.

Featured speaker will be Bluffton mayor Judy Augsburger.  She report on the state of Bluffton village affairs.

The agenda will include discussion of the Lions' upcoming roadside clean-up, as well as the   Blaze of Lights chicken barbecue and parade.

Joan Marie Basinger, 80, died at 11:20 a.m. Oct. 6, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.  She was born Dec. 30, 1933, in Orange Township, Hancock County, Ohio to Ivan and Helen (Bell) Montgomery who preceded her in death. On April 2, 1965, she married Wallace Basinger and he survives.

Mrs. Basinger retired from Pandora-Gilboa School where she was the high school secretary for 23 years. She was a member of the Pandora United Methodist Church. She was a 1951 graduate of Bluffton High School.

The public is invited to a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony for the Lions Way Bike and Pedestrian Pathway in Bluffton at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 21, according to Richard Ramseyer, chair of the pathway board.

The event takes place at Comfort Inn, 117 Commerce Lane, at the eastern entrance of the pathway. The pathway follows the abandoned Akron, Canton and Youngstown Railroad from Comfort Inn to its western entrance near Tower Automotive, 18717 County Road 15.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University freshman Jordan Watkins (Reynoldsburg) contributed eight points in Bluffton's 20-14 win over Hanover on Homecoming and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Player of the Week on special teams for his work on Saturday.
