The winner of Week 6 of The Icon Football Contest is Chris Boisvert. Two contestants correctly picked 8 contests this week, neither correctly picked Tie-Breaker #1 and Chris was declared the winner by correctly picking Tie-Breaker #2.
The Allen County Creating Healthy Communities Project, Allen County Bike and Pedestrian Task Force and Allen County Public Health are promoting Walk to School Day on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
Note: On Sept. 27 the Bluffton American Legion held a flag pole dedication ceremony at the townhall.
When I looked out the window of my Town Hall office and saw the flag, my eyes teared up. I did not know at the time where it came from but was very grateful and appreciative to see it.
Bluffton Public Library's October calendar has lots to offer patrons. Here's the schedule:
Tutor Me Paperless returns in October. On Wednesdays the 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd, the library will offer basic tutoring for word processing, internet, email, database research, eBook, tablets, and more. These one-hour sessions can be reserved by phone (419-358-5016) or by stopping in to sign up at the front desk.
The Bluffton Public Library congratulates those who participated in Summer Reading 2014.
There were 261 children, 46 teens, and 78 adults who signed up for the program. There were a total of 40 programs during June and July with a total attendance of 687.
The teens read a combined total of 41,231 pages. Library staff members wish to thank the patrons, community members and business who sponsored, donated time and gifts, and supported the library.

While, no relation to Arlo, Ada’s Gus Guthrie’s Ada Flea Market is sort of like Alice’s Restaurant.
Gus says that there’s something for everyone at Ada Flea Market. Located at 111 N. Main St., Ada, the market is open Thursdays from noon to 5 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Icon viewers are invited to an open meeting of the Heirloom Antique Club at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, in the Bluffton town hall.
Anne Stratton, speaker and antique appraiser, will talk about the Confederate prisoners of the Civil War camp on Johnson's Island, Marblehead, Ohio.

Terry Mullenhour, chair of the Bluffton cultural affairs committee, invites any interested resident to help place the Ream holiday folk art display pieces on the Presbyterian Church lawn next month.
The set up is Saturday morning, Nov. 8. Mullenhours said volunteers can bring hammers and screwdrivers and be ready to help place the pieces in the yard for the 2014 Blaze of Lights season.
