Here's the schedule for this weekend's McDonald's Holiday Tournament to be held this Friday and Saturday evening at Bluffton High School. The doors will open at 5:15 p.m., all tickets will be $5 at the door, there will be no presale.

Friday November 28:
5:15 p.m.: Doors open
6:00 p.m.: Arlington vs. Allen East
Approximately 15 minutes after 6 o'clock game: Bluffton vs. Cory-Rawson

Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services hosts its annual Tree of Remembrance Service on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. at its Shawnee Chapel, 1170 Shawnee Road, Lima.

This service honors those we have lost, and is open to everyone, no matter what their faith, when they lost their loved one, or which funeral home performed the service.  Every family will receive an ornament engraved with their loved one’s name that they can take home for memories that will last lifetime. 

BREAKFAST STARTS AT 8 a.m.
Tuesday-Wednesday morning, we will be open at 8 a.m. and serve breakfast all day.

Holiday Hours
We will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 and 28, for lunch and dinner, but will be open on Saturday for the Blaze of Lights.

Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 N. Main St, will hold a special Thanksgiving service on Thursday, Nov. 27 at 9:30 a.m. 

It is titled "Thankful Throughout the Year" and will involve Scripture readings and singing in thanksgiving to God for all His blessings through all the seasons of the year. 

Pastor Al Schmitzer will conduct the worship and the choir will sing “Bless this House”.  The Luther Society's horn of plenty will hold center stage to visualize God's abundance to us.   

Marcene Mae Spangler, 87, died Nov. 21, 2014 at 5:20 p.m. Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.  She was born August 5, 1927, in Jackson Twp., Allen Co, Ohio, to Wavel and Martha (Kidd) Ransbottom who preceded her in death.

On Nov. 22, 1953, she married Raymond Spangler who preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2009.

Duane Dale Hauenstein, 57, died Nov. 23, 2014, at his residence.  He was born Oct. 23, 1957 in Bluffton to the late William and Betty (Ewing) Hauenstein who preceded him in death. On April 20, 2002, he married Melanie Stall Hauenstein and she survives.

Mr. Hauenstein was owner/operator of Hauenstein Trucking, Bluffton and was also a farmer. He was a 1976 graduate of Bluffton High School.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Despite another big night from Thayne Recker (Arlington), the Bluffton University men’s basketball team fell to host North Central College on Saturday, Nov. 22, by a final of 77-61. Recker scored 24 points on 9-for-10 shooting while adding five boards to follow up his 25-point, 11-rebound performance in Friday’s loss. The Beavers fell to 1-2 while the Cardinals are now 2-0 early in the season.

The Saturday after Thanksgiving in Bluffton means more than just the OSU-Michigan football game.

It means the Blaze of Lights. 

But, the Blaze of Lights is more than just a one-day event. In addition to the events taking place on Nov. 29, it includes these elements that continue nightly through Jan. 1:
