Duane Hauenstein was a 1976 Bluffton High School graduate

Duane Dale Hauenstein, 57, died Nov. 23, 2014, at his residence.  He was born Oct. 23, 1957 in Bluffton to the late William and Betty (Ewing) Hauenstein who preceded him in death. On April 20, 2002, he married Melanie Stall Hauenstein and she survives.

Mr. Hauenstein was owner/operator of Hauenstein Trucking, Bluffton and was also a farmer. He was a 1976 graduate of Bluffton High School.

Survivors also include a son, Brad Hauenstein of Beaverdam; a daughter Christina (Kahli Oakman) Hauenstein of Perrsburg; a step son Brandon Hilty of Findlay; step daughter Charlyn Wingate of Bluffton. 

Also surviving are six grandchildren Autumn, Aspen, Destinee and Dakota Hauenstein, Malaki Oakman, Kamre Wingate; two step grandchildren Gaige and Acacia Leal; three sisters Joyce Ann Reed of Boonville, Ky., Rachel (Jerry) Lambert of Wapakoneta, Pam Taylor of Beaverdam;  a half sister Pamela (Marv) Goldstein of Cleveland;  five brothers Donald Hauenstein of Columbus Grove, Ronald Hauenstein of Harrod, David (Beth) Hauenstein of Bluffton, William Hauenstein, II of Ludington, Mich., Jim (Sally) Hauenstein of Lima; three step brothers Jim Swallow of Port Charlotte, Fla., Mike (Stephanie) Swallow of Lima, Gary (Janet) Swallow of Lima; a step mother Rovella "Rosie" Hauenstein of Lima, and his beloved dog Tundra.

He was preceded in death by a son, Brett Begg, and a sister in law Marlene Hauenstein.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Sam Wireman officiating. Burial will  be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima following the service. Friends may call Tuesday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
