LEXINGTON, Ky. - Despite an impressive comeback by the Bluffton women, the nationally-ranked Pioneers of Transylvania University were too much for the Beavers to handle. The loss ends Bluffton's record-breaking season with a mark of 18-9, two more wins than the 1995-96 squad that went 16-9.
Bluffton author, Ashley Pearson, will have a book signing on Saturday, Feb. 28, at Book ReViews, 123 S. Main St., for her recently published children’s book “Little Gracie’s Daily Adventure,” according to Dr. Christina Walton, store manager.
The signing is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Book ReViews.
Pearson is a Bluffton High School graduate. She worked in the Findlay Hancock County Public Library circulation area for six years where she was exposed to many genres of books.
Bluffton Public Library announces its first-ever adult spelling bee. And it offers cash as the grand prize.
The spelling bee takes place in the library at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 26.
Anyone over age 13 may participate. This means teens may compete against their parents, grandparents or teachers.
This is not the spelling bee your remember from school. Contestants are encouraged to dressing up in bee colors or wearing your favorite “geek glasses.”
Betty J. Hauenstein, 87, of Bluffton died at 11:10 p.m. Feb. 26, 2015, at Willow Ridge, Bluffton. She was born June 13, 1927 in Columbus Grove to the late Wilbur and Edna Glancy Risser. On Aug. 14, 1947 she married Ellis B. Hauenstein who preceded her in death on March 15, 2011.
She was a homemaker and had previously worked at Stratton Greenhouse.
Bridge Bereavement Services will offer a workshop for understanding grief on Thursday, March 5 from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Beckett Room at Blanchard Valley Hospital, 1900 S. Main St., Findlay. The event is for individuals 18 years of age and older and is open to the public.
This workshop will help participants learn more about the grief process including how to identify essential physical, emotional, cognitive, social and spiritual actions that will aid in healing.
