“The Power of Purple” is a new phrase at Bluffton University, but the concept is as old as the institution, Bluffton’s president said Sept. 15.

It’s about bringing people and ideas together for a greater purpose, like red and blue together make purple—Bluffton’s main school color. And “Bluffton has always been about The Power of Purple,” said Dr. James M. Harder, who went on to illustrate it with five stories that comprised his annual President’s Forum address.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University senior defensive end Ryan Aelker (New Bavaria/Holgate) was voted as the HCAC Play of the Week for week 2. The senior earned the title after voting took place on various HCAC social media outlets.

With Bluffton holding a 38-26 lead late in the fourth quarter over Baldwin Wallace, Aelker makes a game-clinching sack on fourth down to solidify the Beavers' first ever win over the Yellow Jackets in program history.
