Let's see, how old must you be to recognized this once-familiar Bluffton scene? Fifty-five, at least.

Can you believe that at one time Bluffton had its own electrical power plant? You are looking at it. Imagine, our own power plant.

None of the structures or pond exists today.

These buildings were located on Harmon Road just north of where Poplar Street connects to Harmon.

Treva Dillman Suter, 97, died November 19, 2016 at Bluffton Hospital. She was born November 27, 1918 in Pandora to Willis and Martha (Amstutz) Basinger. On July 5, 1938, she married Donald D. Dillman, who died February 24, 1975.  On May 11, 1985 she married James R. Suter, who died January 24, 2014.

School board will also approve 2017-18 school calendar

Bluffton school board will act on several contracts, classroom assignments, student teacher action and one resignation on Monday.

Bluffton council will act on three pieces of legislation affecting dumping of dirt and other debris in the village during its Monday council session.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's basketball team stunned Hiram College 90-86 in overtime on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016. The Beavers avenged a 91-71 loss to the Terriers from the McDonald's tourney last year when Hiram posted a 19-8 mark. Bluffton stays perfect at 2-0, while Hiram slipped to 1-1.

ERIE, Penn. - The Bluffton University women’s basketball team faced tournament host Penn State-Behrend to close out their tip-off weekend. The Beavers improved to 2-0 as they defeated the Lions, 73-63. Penn State-Behrend drops to 0-2 after a pair of losses to Heartland Conference members Defiance College and Bluffton.

Treva Dillman Suter, 97, of Bluffton died Nov. 19, 2016, at Bluffton Hospital.  Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services,  Bluffton.

ERIE, Penn. - A stout defense carried the Bluffton University women's basketball team on a night when the Beavers struggled to put the biscuit in the basket. Bluffton outscored Waynesburg 21-11 in the final quarter for a come-from-behind 64-56 victory in the 2016-17 season opener on Friday, Nov. 18.

A combined Thanksgiving worship service with Pleasant View and Rawson New Hope United Methodist Churches is planned at 7 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Mount Cory United Methodist Church, Mt. Cory.

Pastor Ben Lowell will be the speaker for the services. The services are open to the public.
