Bethel Church of Christ
Candlelight service is at 7 p.m. on Christmas eve. Worship on Christmas Day is at 10 a.m. Bethel is located at 4014 CR 304, old Route 30.
Bluffton Baptist Church
The congregation’s Christmas eve service is at 7 p.m. There will be no service on Sunday, Dec. 25.
The Board of Trustees of Bluffton Public Library will hold its annual organizational meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the meeting is to elect officers, set the 2017 meeting schedule and approve temporary authorizations for 2017, according to Jessica Hermiller, library director.
Bluffton council moves its meeting dates in 2017. Meetings will take place at 8 p.m., on the second and fourth Mondays. (In 2016 meetings were held on the first and third Mondays.)
One additional village-related announcement from Jon Kinn, fire chief: Main Street holiday garlands will be taken down on Saturday morning, Jan. 7.
English Lutheran Church Christmas services follow:
Christmas Eve celebration begins with the Family Candlelight Service with Holy Communion at 7 p.m. This worship experience includes an inter-active re-telling of the Christmas story with the assistance of those children present. Amanda, Lauren, and Alyssa Speicher will provide instrumental music as a stringed trio.
At 11 p.m. is a Festival Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols with Holy Communion.
Ebenezer Mennonite Church's Christmas Eve service begins at 6 p.m. in the Crossroads Ministry Center. Come early to hear beautiful harp music from Youth Pastor David Glick and his mother, Nancy. The service will include Christmas carols, readers' theatre, a devotional, and candle lighting.
The Sunday morning Christmas worship service is at 10:15 a.m. The Worship Team will provide several selections preceding the service followed by music, scripture, prayer, and inspirational message.
Ebenezer Church is located two miles west of Bluffton on Columbus Grove Road.
Bluffton resident Meri Skilliter, McComb school superintendent, will be the new superintendent of Ada Exempted Village Schools replacing Dr. Suzanne Darmer.
On Dec. 21 Skilliter was offered a three-year contract at Ada starting Jan. 1, 2017, at $98,000 per year.
Darmer was Ada’s superintendent for the past 10 years and is retiring at the end of the year.
Skilliter, McComb’s superintendent since August 2013, is a previous teacher in the Bluffton school system.
Skilliter announced her departure from McComb School District through her blog on the school website.

Robert Antibus of Bluffton was re-elected to the Blanchard River Watershed Partnership board of directors for 2017 at the partnership’s annual meeting held at the Hancock Agricultural Center, according to Phil Martin coordinator of the partnership.
Antibus represents the Riley Creek watershed on the board.
