The Sunflower Trio, comprised of Hesston College music faculty Matthew Schloneger, tenor; Rebecca Schloneger, violin and Ken Rodgers, piano, will present a program about Mennonite composer J. Harold Moyer which will feature some of his music during Forum at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, in Yoder Recital Hall.
The group will also perform a concert of Moyer’s works at 7:30 p.m. that evening in Yoder Recital Hall. Both events are free and open to the public. A free-will offering to cover program expenses will be taken during the evening performance.
Bluffton University students, faculty and staff will gather at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 2 for a memorial service at the Circle of Remembrance to recognize the 10th anniversary of the 2007 baseball team’s bus accident in Atlanta, Ga., when the team’s charter bus fell from an overpass on their way to spring training.
It’s Student Art Month! This year the library will feature a Student Art Showcase Launch Party on Thursday, March 2, at 6 p.m. Art from area schools and homeschooling families will be displayed throughout the library for your perusal, and refreshments will be provided.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton senior AUSTIN ROHDE (Shelby) capped off his stellar career at the University by being just one of six players to earn First Team All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors! Rohde collected hardware for the second straight season after the high flyer was a second team selection as a junior. Sophomore Jared Wentling (Carey) scooped up Honorable Mention All-HCAC for his cage efforts this year.
Village officials revealed six major capital improvement projects proposed for 2017, 2018 and 2019 late last week.
If each of the six is approved, the village will embark on three years of intense projects.
Specifics are detailed in a three-page document attached at the bottom of this story. With these items on the council’s proposed calendar, discussion and decisions will follow. Each project has several items to be considered and those considerations are listed in three pages of the attachment.
Timelines and estimated costs are not included in the projects.
