Bluffton police issued the following weather advisory on Tuesday morning, April 3:

Severe weather this afternoon (3 to 10 p.m. greatest risk) as cold front approaches - large hail and damaging wind gust.

Roger K. Badertscher, 72, died April 2, 2018, at his residence. Roger was born Dec. 30, 1945, in Florida to Leland and Ima Jean (Montgomery) Badertscher.  

Roger had been a UPS driver.

Survivors include his father, Leland Badertscher of Bluffton; two daughters; two sons, Ronn (Christie) Badertscher and Kyle Badertscher both of Collinsville, Oklahoma; and two sisters, Karen (Donald) Brown of Bluffton and Janet Honse of Findlay. 

Roger was preceded in death by his mother Ima Jean Badertscher.

A service may be planned at a later date.

Justin Haggard turned in a win in first singles but Defiance took the remaining matches and defeated Bluffton 4-1 in boys tennis Monday afternoon. The Pirates are now 1-2 in match play.

Lisa Wenger of Real Living CCR Realtors, was recently recognized by the company.

Wenger received the Ruby Medallion Award, by earning at least $70,000 in total gross commission income in 2017.

The award was presented to agents who are the “best of the best” Real Living 360 service professionals.

Wenger works from the Real Living CCR Realtors office at 142 E. Jefferson St., Suite B, Bluffton.

The play “Peter Pan” will be presented by the students in grades 1-8 at Trinity Lutheran School, Jenera, on Friday April 13, at 1:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 14, at 4 p.m.

The performance is unique as the cast is chosen on Monday and the play is presented on Friday.

Members of the Prairie Fire Children’s Theater based in Barrett, Minnesota, travel throughout the United States, directing plays at various schools.

Two members will hold auditions on Monday and choose students for the various roles in the play. 

Jim Volk, Columbus musician, will perform at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, in this month's Town Hall Concert Series, according to Jeff Yoder.

Volk's masterful yet whimsical performances have spellbound audiences of all age groups and backgrounds for three decades. His fiery, melodic hybrid style of picking has incurred countless comparisons to Kottke, Keaggy and Tommy E. His solo release, “Blue Wheels…and Other Guitar Favorites” has drawn much critical acclaim and award nationwide.

The Bluffton Cattle Club met for their second 4H meeting of the year on March 11, at the Richland Township House at 7 pm.  Officers were elected during this meeting.

Sophomore Libby Schaadt had a big afternoon for the Bluffton softball team as the Pirates defeated both visiting Elida and Mother Nature for a 4-1 victory.  With the field snow covered at day break, the win was much needed for the Pirates who had not played in a week.
