The Ohio Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) $114 million reconstruction and widening of Interstate 75 through Findlay and Hancock County has progressed well. The project is in year three of a four-year construction schedule and is on pace to be completed late next year.

It has truly been an honor serving as a Bluffton School board member for the past 11.5 years.

I will finish my current term in December, I have enjoyed every minute of my three terms.  We have an amazing community that supports not only their own children, but all children in the district.

We have custodians, cafeteria ladies, classroom helpers, bus drivers, secretaries and teachers that consider their positions at Bluffton far more than just a job, but a calling.

Here's a look at the possible Nov. 5 local ballot

The Nov. 5 local general election ballot is nearly in place, as the candidate filing deadline for school board and township trustees was Aug. 7.

Here is what appears to be on the November ballot. A write-in candidate deadline could change any of this. That deadline is 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 26. And, the board has not yet certified school board and trustee petitions.

The lone change in races is that Renee Smith did not file a petition for the Bluffton school board seat she currently holds. A new candidate, Bradley Dailey has filed for that seat.
