Two free meals, open to the public, are set at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center in November.
The meals are at 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, hosted by Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio, and at 6 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 21, hosted by First United Methodist Church.
The center is located at 132 N. Main St., Bluffton. All ages are welcome (and children usually get served first).

It was a dark and stormy night.

However, Bluffton’s Halloweener’s had a Plan B. It is this: when the weather’s howling outside, go inside.
And, so places like the Bluffton Public Library, Bluffton Family Recreation and the English Lutheran Church attracted more candy that you’d find tossed in a homecoming parade.

DEFIANCE - The Bluffton boys soccer team outlasted number one-ranked Ottawa Hills 4-2 in penalty kicks after a double overtime epic in Div. III regional final action at Defiance Saturday evening.
The Pirate upset victory, their sixth match win in a row, improved their season record to 17-2-2. State poll regular season champion Ottawa Hills ended their campaign 16-3-2 after the defeat.
In a vote amongst league coaches, Transylvania University was picked to lead the pack in the 2019-20 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Men's Basketball race, receiving 95 points, and six first place nods.
My name is Larry Hoffman and I am running as a write-in candidate for the Bluffton School Board.
In August I became aware of a potential vacancy on the school board, with several friends and family members encouraging me to run for the open position.
I believe this is a good fit with my experience and background. I have joined the Ohio School Board Association (OSBA) to learn more about the duties and responsibilities of being a good board member.
Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) and Brethren Retirement Community (BRC) through its wholly owned subsidiary, Brethren Home Management Services (BHMS), LLC announce the execution of an executive consulting partnership beginning Nov. 5.
Through this arrangement, BHMS will work closely with the MHCO board, staff, and leadership team to provide C-Suite support and other strategic, operational and financial services as MHCO continues to serve the community and build upon the foundation of care that has flourished since 1955.
Bluffton Senior Citizens Association will hold a memorial service for its members who have died in the past 12 months. The remembrance is part of the association’s annual meeting at 6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 11, at the Senior Citizens Center, 132 N. Main St.
The meeting includes an election of new board members. Three will be elected from a list of five candidates: Phyllis George, David Herr, Mar Ann Gallant, Wade Oberly, and Bev Baxter.
Three members who turn 90 in November will receive life memberships. They are Bruno Maroscher, Sara Jane Amstutz and Marian Kissling.
Dixie Lee Thompson, 78, died on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 at 7:10 a.m. at Vancrest of Ada.
She was born on June 18, 1941 in Lima, Ohio, to the late Lester E. and Betty (Plummer) Mumaw. On April 8, 1962, Dixie married David E. Thompson and he survives in LaFayette.
