• We are likely entering a severe, but perhaps short-lived recession.
• The length of the recession depends largely on fiscal stimulus and containing the COVID-19 outbreak. Federal and state governments are working on such measures.
Due to community concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure that every precaution is being taken to prioritize the safety of our patients, Bluffton Hospital will no longer allow visitors. (Effective March 25, 2020)
This policy applies to all Blanchard Valley Health System facilities including hospitals and outpatient clinics.
An exception of one caregiver per patient for the duration of the hospital stay will be granted for patients in our pediatric and labor and delivery care units.
The Bluffton University education department is offering free online educational enrichment in response to K-12 school closures in Ohio.

The State of Ohio announced on March 23 that Ohio will be under a "Stay at Home" order.
The order went into effect beginning Monday, March 23,, at 11:59 p.m. and will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on April 6, unless the order is rescinded or modified.
"We haven't faced an enemy like we are facing today in 102 years - we are at war. In the time of war, we must make sacrifices, and I thank all of our Ohio citizens for what they are doing and what they aren't doing. You are making a huge difference, and this difference will save lives," said Governor DeWine.
In light of the governor’s order to “stay at home,” the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Ohio and our desire to keep the Bluffton village community safe, the administration at Bluffton University is asking the general public to not congregate in groups on campus grounds while social distancing is being mandated.
For example, we have been made aware that groups of young people are gathering to play pickup games of soccer and flag football on campus.
