The Pandora United Methodist Church will be host a free community meal on Wednesday, May 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. The church is located at 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora. 

The meal is provided by Bob Steele Trucking.

The menu is Jonnie Marzetti, cole slaw, breadsticks, and a cookie. This is for carry-out only.

Board acts on four-year contracts on Monday

Bluffton school board will act on contracts for its administrative staff on Monday.

The contracts cover a four-year period, and include no salary increases for 2020-21. Depending upon the staff member, contracts cover either July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2024, or Aug. 1, 2020, to July 31, 2024.

Eosinophilic esophagitis, or “EoE” for short, is a condition that affects the esophagus, the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach. In cases of EoE, the esophagus has cells called eosinophils.

Eosinophils are not normally found in the esophagus. They are cells associated with allergies. The exact cause of EoE is unknown but thought to be related to food allergies.

Results finally certified and here's how local precincts voted

March 17 and even April 28 seem such a long time ago.

Ohio’s primary election, originally set for March 17, was postponed by the state due to the Covid-19 virus. It was extended to April 28. And on May 14 the Allen County board of elections certified the results.

Local responses ranged from only 10 to 32 percent of registered voters in Bluffton, Richland and Beaverdam precincts who cast ballots.

Beginning Sunday, May 31, childcare providers in Ohio will be permitted to reopen if these providers can meet required safety protocols. 

Doris Lillian (Krause) Fuerstenau, 99, died on her birthday, at 4:30 a.m., May 7, 2020. She moved to Ohio, near her son, Mark and his family, last October, when she was no longer physically able to remain in her own home. She was originally from Richmond, Michigan.

Born on May 7, 1921, to Herman and Wilhelmina (Killian) Krause, She married Charles Fuerstenau and they were married for 69 years. He died in 2009.
