The Pandora United Methodist Church will be hosting a free Community Meal from 5:00-6:30 p.m. on June 29 at 108 E. Washington St, Pandora.

The menu is tacos, refried beans, rice, applesauce and muffins. The meal is dine in or take out.

The Village of Bluffton has announced that the Insurance Committee will meet:

  • Monday, June 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall

 

Pandora Family Physicians, Inc. will honor Dr. David Houston on the occasion of his retirement from the medical practice, where he has served patients for 40 years.

An open house will be held 10:00 a.m.-noon on July 23 at the office at 202 Hilty Dr, Pandora, Ohio.

 

Joan Colleen Dailey, 92, passed away June 12, 2022 at the Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton. Jo was born June 13, 1929 in Bluffton to the late Hiram and Martha (Augsburger) Burkholder. On July 17, 1949 she married James Dailey who preceded her in death on February 20, 2014. 

Planning for the Bluffton Fall Festival–the biggest event in Bluffton geographically speaking–has started. September 24, 2022 is the date.

Fall Festival has been an area attraction since 2004 and always includes plenty of free fun for families including an antique tractor show, inflatables, farm animals, face painting, etc. 

Purchases and fees have included food and drinks, as well as crafts.

The Village of Bluffton wants to know your ideas for “Bluffton Beyond Tomorrow.” Those engaged in the community, including residents, employees, are invited to complete an online survey HERE.

The survey is brief and uses check boxes and lists to speed up the experience. The questions aren’t hard. What do you love about Bluffton? What needs improving?

What would you prioritize when it comes to investing time, effort, money and land?

The results will help the Village of Bluffton create a planning document that in turn will help the community apply for funding.

The survey will be distributed online and at local events. You can pass along the survey with the attached QR code or send the URL above to your friends, neighbors and family in the area.

On June 4 GROB Systems Inc. held an orientation and signing day for its newest class of apprentices. Forty-one apprentices and their families were invited to the Bluffton manufacturing plant event at 1070 Navajo Dr. The event prepared them for their first day of work on June 13 and gave everyone a chance to tour the facility where GROB produces universal (5-axis) machining centers that are used by high-precision industries including automotive, medical, aerospace, mold and die.

As a serious student of this community’s church windows, Bluffton Forever believes that the most intriguing, most beautiful and most ornate windows in the village exist in the First United Methodist Church.

Janice M. Shields, 93, passed away under hospice care on June 11, 2022, at 5:17 a.m.

She was born June 17, 1928 in Columbus Grove, OH to William M. and Ruth (Fruchey) Bryan who preceded her in death. On November 21, 1948 she married Hiram Bucher who preceded her in death on February 11, 1993. On May 3, 1997 she married Marion "Sam" Shields who died December 26, 2012.

The visiting Bluffton Sardines outswam Ada-Lost Creek Gators in West Ohio Aquatic League dual meet action Thursday night, June 9.

The Sardines won the combined boys-girls team event with scores of 465-274 over the Gators. The Sardine boys won 235-153, while the Sardine girls won 230-121.

Bluffton's Kari Diller won five races in the 11-12 age bracket to lead the girls.. 

Bluffton's Camden Verb won four individual races in the 11-12 age bracket to pace the boys.
