D. Jacqueline Kent, age 85, of Ada, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, at 10:27 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
She was born on June 23, 1937, in Middlesboro, KY to the late Royce and Edna (Mason) Sampson. On August 7, 1955 Jackie married Darrell E. Kent and he preceded her in death on May 14, 2012.
Thelma L. Fee, age 93, of Bluffton, Ohio passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, at 5:08 p.m. at Vancrest of Ada.
She was born on February 17, 1930 in North Baltimore, Ohio to the late Virgil L. and Helen (Northrup) Krontz. On December 18, 1948 Thelma married Richard E. Fee, Sr. and he preceded her in death on September 26, 1997.
The Lima/Allen County Safe Community Coalition reports there were two fatal traffic crashes on Allen County roadways during April and May 2023.
Thus far, there have been a total of 6 fatalities on Allen County roadways due to traffic crashes in 2023. In comparison, during 2022 there was one fatal crash through May.
Emerson E. Basinger, 86, passed away June 19, 2023 at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay. Emerson was born March 4, 1937 in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Emory and Zola (Disbrow) Basinger. On June 22, 1956 he married Jeannine Benroth Basinger and she survives.
Emerson graduated from Beaverdam High School. He managed grain elevators in Bluffton, Pandora and Columbus Grove. Emerson worked for Elopak Industries in Bluffton and Michigan before his retirement. He was a former member of Bluffton Presbyterian Church. Emerson was never happier than when he was building, remodeling or woodworking. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
The Bluffton Lions Club has a pretty good recipe for its Festival of Wheels, one that they’ve tinkered with for 55 years. On June 16, the Lions cooked up a show that attracted 266 entries to downtown Bluffton. The main ingredients are vehicles—cars, trucks, motorcycles and tractors—that under the hands of an ordinary owner would be past their expiration date. From time to time the head chef changes. The special sauce—the weather—is a little unpredictable. Food, music and raffle tickets are sprinkled on for extra flavor.

The unknown suspect(s) took the following items: keys to the cash register, HP laptop with power cord estimated value $500.00, photographic optical equipment value at $143.00, and a safe containing money and checks in the amount of $930.00.
Diane Jane (Ackerman) Muller, 86, passed away June 17, 2023 at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. Diane was born May 11, 1937 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Gould and Viola (Krogh) Ackerman. On July 25, 1960 she married Jean Muller who preceded her in death on February 9, 2012.
Diane lived in Bluffton, Ohio most of her life and loved the farmland. She was a long-time employee of Whirlpool Corp. in Findlay, and was a long-time volunteer of the Et Cetera Shop in Bluffton.
