On May 4-5, the International Women’s Flag Football Association, Ada’s Wilson football factory, and the Inn at ONU, hosted a women’s and girls flag football tournament at Ohio Northern’s Dial-Roberson Stadium.

Disc golf Team Mojo of Bucyrus organized a May 4 Star Wars Day tournament, which served as the first ever Bluffton Open at the village's Bluffton Hospital Disc Golf Course. 

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly breakfast meeting on Friday, May 10 on the third floor of the Town Hall. Superior Energy Solutions is the breakfast sponsor and program provider. Twisted Whisk Cafe will be serving the 7:00 a.m. breakfast.

The love between married couples is powerful, and as chaplain I witnessed it among couples that lived in the nursing home. Here are several examples.

The Gardeners of the Bluffton Pandora Area are hosting a May 7 program on dahlias with Linda Finsel, a Hancock County Master Gardener volunteer. She will be presenting information on dahlias: the different types and how to plant, grow, harvest and store.

Bluffton Lions Club members and friends will be counting pathway traffic on Bluffton's 11 segments of bike and pedestiran for the two weeks starting May 6.

Activate Allen County has advised organizers that these semi-annual counts are helpful in obtaining grants for new Pathways. Signs will be posted showing that the Lions Pathway Count is taking place.

Get ready for a night of music, as the vocal ensemble "4 Guys and a Gal" from Bluffton High School prepares to take their final bow in a 7:00 p.m. concert on May 18 on the Bluffton Middle School stage. 

Join five students for an unforgettable evening as they showcases the culmination of their high school journey through a selection of songs that celebrate friendship, love and the joy of music. Their repertoire includes timeless classics, barbershop, do-wop and sacred hymns.   

Dorothy Pauline (Sutter) Cherry, 95, of rural Pandora, Ohio left this earth May 1, 2024 at her home.  Born February 5, 1929 in Genoa, Ohio, the daughter of Elmer and Lenora (Blodget) Sutter.

ADA __ The Bluffton High School boys and girls track and field teams each came home with first-place team hardware at the 17-team Ada Invitational meet Saturday in War Memorial Stadium.

The Bluffton, Ohio Police Department has released the following Police Docket for April 2024:

April 3

Officers arrested a Bluffton resident for Driving Under Suspension following a traffic stop for a registration violation in the area of Harmon Road near Poplar Street. The case is pending in Lima Municipal Court.

Officers responded to the university for an Assault complaint.

Officers responded to the 400 block of County Line Road for a Burglary complaint. The tenant arrived home and noticed his door was open after he secured it earlier in the day. Officer’s made sure no one was inside the apartment and the tenant did not notice anything missing or out of the ordinary.

April 9

Officers responded to a dispute in the 200 block of North Lawn Avenue. After a brief investigation into the incident, all parties involved voluntarily separated for the night.
