“Bonhoeffer: Cell 92,” a cinematic theatre production created by Jerry Holsopple and Justin Poole from Eastern Mennonite University, comes to Bluffton University at on Thursday, Sept. 26, and Friday, Sept. 27.
Dr. Jane Wood, president of Bluffton University, and Dr. Katherine Fell, president of University of Findlay, will present the State of the University Forum on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
During the presentation, Dr. Wood and Dr. Fell will address the state of the university in the context of the proposed merger of Bluffton University and University of Findlay.
Rooster nuisances did not return to Bluffton Council discussions at the regular meeting of September 9. Topics addressed included the most recent draft of proposed Accessory Dwelling Unit zoning, the opportunity to fill in gaps during the fall tree planting program and ways to better utilize Bluffton Airport.
On Tuesday, September 10, Burkholder Healthy Farms of Allen County hosted 73 people for a day of learning about cover crops and Farmer Advocates for Conservation work in Ohio.
Organizer Matt Burkholder says that "Farmers learned how to increase profits by reducing input costs, such as fertilizer, pesticides, and diesel fuel.... After walking in a summer planted cover crop field, those in attendance learned firsthand how cover crops and no till improve water infiltration, reduce nutrient runoff and soil erosion."

The Pirates dominated the Mustangs in straight sets 25-11, 25-15, 25-7.
FINDLAY __ The visiting Bluffton High School boys soccer team fell behind early and lost 4-1 at powerhouse Liberty-Benton in a non-league match Tuesday evening, September 10.
The Pirate record dropped to 2-6 with the defeat. The Eagles improved to 7-1 after the win.
L-B led 2-1 at halftime and added two more goals after intermission to put the game out of reach.
Eagle ace Trevor Ferris found the back of the net just 80 seconds into the game, and L-B never trailed.
Dwain and Karyl (Sousley) Crawford are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married by the Reverend Dr. Ralph Quellhorst on September 12, 1964 at Emmanuel United Church of Christ Bluffton, Ohio.
The Crawford’s have two daughters: Lisa Crawford of Findlay, Ohio and Lori (John) Pletcher of Waynesfield, Ohio. They are the proud grandparents of two grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
HAVILAND __ The visiting Bluffton High School volleyball team defeated Wayne Trace in straight sets to post a non-league win Monday evening, September 10.
The Pirates swept the Raiders 25-20, 25-20, 25-19.
The road victory improved the Pirate record to 9-1 this season. Bluffton has won eight consecutive matches since a loss to Shawnee August 19.
WT dropped to 4-4 after the defeat.
Kendall Stackhouse knocked down 11 kills to pace the Pirate hitting attack.
