The Bluffton Cattle 4-H Club will host their annual chicken BBQ fundraiser from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Bluffton Sportsmen’s Club, 405 N. Spring St.
The money raised benefits the Bluffton-Pandora-Beaverdam buyers group, who support the Bluffton area livestock exhibitors at the Allen County Fair.
Tickets are $10.00 each, which includes a 1/2 chicken, mac and cheese, and green beans catered by Bubba C’s.
There will also be a bake sale by donation. Pre-sale tickets are available from any Bluffton Cattle Club member.
Do you hang out at Bluffton University's Musselman Library? Hours will be limited during the week of July 4-8. Plan your visits for Tuesday and Wednesday from 1:00-3:30 p.m.
Occasionally a book comes along that captures and holds my interest until it's finished. Whether it is story or plot or writing skill, I'm pulled in and all other activities I'm doing fade away because I'm hooked into the book.
Booth (Random House, ISBN 978-0-593-55649-8) is Karen Joy Fowler's 2022 release, and her second novel. (Her first novel is We are All Completely Besides Ourselves). The well-written story is a meticulous glimpse into the past before Abraham Lincoln was killed in cold blood by John Wilkes Booth.

The Bluffton polls will be open from 6:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. at The Centre at Bluffton, 601 N. Main St. That evening there will also be National Night Out celebrations held across Snider Rd. at the Bluffton Community Pool.
