Ohio Northern University is holding children's auditions for the annual "Holiday Spectacular" on Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. Auditions will be held in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts located on the ONU campus.
The show calls for singers and dancers ranging in age from 5-12. Children may be asked to sing and should be ready to participate in a dance call, which requires jazz and/or tap shoes.

"Flowers For Her Grave" (Poisoned Pen, $24.95), authored by local writer, Judy Clemens, was reviewed by in the New York Times Aug. 7 Book Review by Marilyn Stasio.
For Clemens, this first New York Times appearance is "pretty amazing and humbling, when you think of all the books getting published, that mine was one of the few to appear in print there.
Members of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Phillips Road, Bluffton, became involved in mission activities at home and away from home this summer, according to Eric Rummel, pastor.

From July 5-10 30 Emmanuel United Church of Christ youth from grades five to 12 from participated in a mission trip to Camp Washington, UCC, Cincinnati.

Bluffton school board meets on Tuesday, Aug. 16, just as the 2011-12 school year is nearly launched.
The agenda includes transportation routing plans, several supplemental contract decisions, substitute teacher decision and the approval of one student who will be issued a diploma due to satisfactory completion of all graduation requirements.
