We at Stratton Greenhouses would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2011 Bluffton Beautification Project. Because of your generous contributions, we were able to add five additional pots to extend the flowers throughout the entire streetscape project.
This year has been an extreme challenge with the heat. We have been watering every other day since May and fertilizing once or twice a week. We have used 6,300 gallons of water.
The Lilly Oncology International Art Competition and Exhibition will make a six-day stop at the Blanchard Valley Regional Cancer Center (BVRCC), Findlay, from Aug. 18 through Aug. 25.
The show will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 18, 19, 22, 23 and 24, and 8 a.m. to noon on Aug. 25. It is free and open to the public.
The Lilly Oncology International Art Competition and Exhibition features artwork created by cancer patients and their caregivers. Artwork includes acrylic, oil, pastel, photography and water color mediums.
A musical performathon that raised $4,346.70 during one morning and one afternoon in Bluffton.
That's exactly the result of the performathon put on the by students of Krysti's Music Studio for Bluffton's Youth for Christ program.

Bluffton High School's marching band will present a run through of the pre-game and its first band show at noon, Friday, Aug. 19, at the village park, according to David Sycks, director.
The show is open to the public.
Later that evening the band will perform at the Allen County band show.
