E. Wayne Kidd 1921-2010
E. Wayne Kidd, 89, Bluffton, died Feb. 25, 2010, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. He was born Jan. 14, 1921, to Cloyce and Lola (Cook) Kidd in Allen County. On Feb. 14, 1944, he married Jeanette Stephens and she survives.
Mr. Kidd retired from the Van Buren Township road maintenance and he was also a farmer. He attended Maranatha Bible Church, Van Buren. He was a member of the VFW Post, Findlay, American Legion Post 3, Findlay, DAV Chapter 43, and Military Order of the Purple Heart. He graduated from Columbus Grove High School.
Survivors in addition to his wife, are a son, Duane (Jane) Kidd, Forest; son, Ronald (finance Mary) Kidd, London, Ky.; son, Darrell Kidd, Jenera; son, Ricky Kidd, Findlay; and daughters Carolyn Karr, Reno, Nev., Vicky (William) Bauman, Jenera; Marilyn (Earl) Shaffer, Galloway; and Susan (Louis) Fyling, Bay City, Mich.
He was preceeded in death by a sister, Helen Mayberry.
A funeral service is at 11 a.m., Monday, March 1, at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. Pastor David Melton will officiate. Military rites will be performed. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Visitation is Sunday from 2-6 p.m., at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. Burial is in Rockport Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Honor Flight of Northwest Ohio or the Maranatha Bible Church.
