Grizzlies take down Women's Soccer 7-1

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Franklin College women's soccer team stayed atop the HCAC leaderboard with a 7-1 victory over Bluffton University on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016. Bluffton slipped to 0-8 overall and 0-3 in the Heartland Conference, while Franklin improved to 10-2 and a perfect 3-0 in the HCAC.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University was recently recognized by the NSCAA for outstanding performance in the classroom during the 2015-16 academic year. The men's and women's soccer teams both received the NSCAA Team Academic Award, making Bluffton one of just 221 institutions to have both soccer teams honored.

Calling all Bluffton youth super heros

Hospital auxiliary holds super hero party Oct. 22

The Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary hosts a Superhero Party for boys and girls on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Bluffton Middle School Cafetorium.

Tickets are $10 each. The event includes a variety of games, snacks and the chance to win raffle prizes. Superheros will be present for photos, and children are encouraged to wear their favorite superhero costume.

There's a good story with this photo for antique tractor lovers

The Icon took this photo at this year's antique tractor show at Maple Crest on Sept. 24.

Not being an antique tractor aficionado, quite honestly, we didn't know one tractor from the next.

Until T.R. Steiner asked for a copy of the photo. Here's his comment:

"That particular tractor is very rare with less than 200 made.  It was specifically designed for eatable bean production and only sold new in Michigan.

A fresh coat of paint

Paul Burkholder of Burkholder Painting and Powerwash, Pandora, spent some time high above Bluffton's Main Street on Friday. The company painted the wooden portion of the second floor of the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center at 132 N. Main St.
