Girls' soccer: Bluffton moves to 9-4-1

And Sarah Theisen has second-in-row 3-goal game

The Bluffton Lady Pirates girls' soccer team tallied another victory against local rival Cory-Rawson at Steinmetz Field on Thursday evening wiith Senior Sarah Theisen racking up another 3 goals to win 3-0.

The first goal came 7:30 into the first half when freshman Kayla White passed to Theisen who landed goal 1. 

Then, 10 minutes later, the same duo scored goal 2 making it 2-0 at the half.  With 17:45 left in the game Senior Captain Abbie Parkins passed to Theisen who pulled way out in front, pulling the goalie out of the box, and Theisen sent the ball right past her.

Boys' soccer: Bluffton continues in 3rd spot

Division III northwestern Ohio coaches' poll; and BHS beats Bearcats 4-0

Bluffton High School boys' soccer team kept its third-place ranking in this week's northwestern Ohio Division III soccer coaches poll.

First is Archbold and second is Lake. Bluffton follows in third, ahead of Eastwood.

NW Physical Therapy offers free October therapy screenings

Northwest Physical Therapy, Inc. will be offering free therapy screens to the public during the month of October, which is National Physical Therapy Month.

These screens will be available at all four outpatient locations in Bluffton, Delphos, Ottawa and Lima.

A physical therapy screening takes approximately 10-15 minutes and will be performed by a licensed clinician. A therapy screening helps identify issues that may be causing unnecessary pain.

Ada native Dysert moved off Arizona practice squad

The Arizona Cardinals will sign quarterback Zac Dysert off their practice squad in anticipation that starter Carson Palmer might not be ready to return from concussion protocol for a Thursday game against the San Francisco 49ers, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Dysert beat out Aaron Murray for the third quarterback gig after the Cardinals parted ways with former No. 3 signal-caller Matt Barkley following the preseason. CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS.

Meet Sierra Ribley, Icon BHS artist of the month

"I enjoy the freedom of art and that it allows you to show your creativness."

Those are thoughts from Sierra Ribley, the Icon's first high school artist of the month. Our feature will focus on Bluffton High School artists, their works and their ideas about art.

Sierra is a senior at BHS. Her art classes have inclulded Art I, Design I, Ceramics I, Ceramics II and Art seminar. She is undecided about college.

The work she holds is a self portrait. She painted it with acrylic on canvas.

Do you have a cat?

State Representative Bob Cupp (R-Allen County) asks students at Bluffton Community Preschool, "How many of you have a cat?" Cupp visited the preschool on Monday and, before leaving, read students a book about cats. The cat-loving audience was attentive.
