Men's soccer: St. Francis improves to 6-1 following 5-1 win over Beavers

The Bluffton University men's soccer team was knotted 1-1 at the break before USF took over with four unanswered tallies in the second period for a 5-1 win on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012. The Cougars moved to 6-1, while Bluffton dipped to 1-2 on the season.
The home team needed just 4:35 to get on the scoreboard when Jason Walcutt buried his ninth goal of the season. Bluffton tied the match with a Dylan Mathews (Arlington) score 13 minutes later. Freshman Wes Corbin (Arlington) collected his first collegiate assist on the Mathews' goal.
Four more Cougar goals in the second period added up to a 5-1 victory for the home team which won its sixth straight match.
USF put together a 17-9 edge in shots, including a 9-3 margin on frame. Bluffton was whistled for three more fouls (12-9). Corbin paced Bluffton with two shots and an assist.
The Beavers return to the pitch when they welcome Wittenberg University for their home opener on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012. The contest is slated for 2 p.m.
