Andrews and Johnson-Evers named Second Team All-HCAC

A pair of Bluffton University men's soccer players were honored for their work on the pitch in 2012. Sophomore Jordan Andrews (Clinton Township, Mich./Chippewa Valley) and freshman Ryan Johnson-Evers (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) both earned Second Team All-Heartland Conference acclaim.

Jordan Andrews moved up to the midfield after playing primarily as a defender during his freshman campaign. He was one of just four Beavers to start all 16 matches in 2012. Andrews fired 13 shots, placing three on frame. He has started all 34 contests in his two years at Bluffton.

Ryan Johnson-Evers was the backbone for Bluffton's defense throughout his first season of collegiate soccer. The freshman started all 16 Beaver soccer matches, finishing with two shots.

In conjunction with the All-HCAC selections, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference also announced the All-HCAC Sportsmanship Team for the fall of 2012. Sophomore Caleb Berlon (Kettering/Fairmont) was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team from Bluffton. This award has been developed as part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative. Members of the All-HCAC Sportsmanship team are selected by the coaches and their teammates as individuals who demonstrate the ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field/court of competition.

The Bluffton University men’s soccer team finished their 2012 campaign with a record of 2-14 overall and 0-8 in the Heartland Conference. Full statistics and information on the 2012 men’s soccer season are available online at www.blufftonbeavers.com/menssoccer.
