Friends of the Library book sale coming; book donations accepted
The Friends of the Bluffton Public Library will hold its fall book sale Sept. 26 to Sept. 28. A special Friends’ member preview will be held 5 - 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26. Friends’ members will enjoy complimentary refreshments, in addition to having the first opportunity to browse and buy sale items, including many children’s books.
Book sale hours for the public are Sept. 26 from 6 - 8 p.m., Sept.27 from 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., and Sept. 28 from 9:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The sale will be held in the Richland Room on the lower level of the library.
Material donations may be left at the library circulation desk by Sept. 21. Medical, legal or technology should be published within the last three years; popular fiction titles within the last ten years. Encyclopedia sets, textbooks and dirty or moldy books are not accepted.
A donation guideline brochure is available at the library circulation desk and at www.blufftonpubliclibrary.org/content/donate-books. Donations that exceed two boxes should be arranged in advance with the Friends.
All proceeds from the Friends’ activities provide invaluable support for literacy and lifelong learning activities. The additional support is especially important while the library continues to operate with state funding cuts that exceed 20 percent. For more information, contact the Friends at friends@blufftonpubliclibrary.org, visit the library or call 419-358-5016.
