All hail Queen Bey! The Carter’s have their own rules when it comes to dropping their album. Following up in her superstar husband’s footsteps, Beyonce surprising dropped her new “visual” self-titled album “Beyonce’” on ITunes first. Giving every woman what they really wanted for Christmas.
This surprise album went on to sell 80,000 copies in the first three hours of its release, and 430,000 copies in the first 24 hours. The new LP includes 14 records and 17 videos.
According to a press release from iTunes, this is a new record, and Beyonce has the fastest-selling iTunes release of all time. It surpasses the former holder of this title, Taylor Swift, whose album “Red” did 465,000 copies on iTunes in the first week. Her album went to #1 in 104 countries and sold 617,213 copies in the U.S. alone. This by far is the best-opening week for woman in 2013.
