Ever wonder why Bluffton is absent of road kill? These four feathered friends are part of a the local Keep Bluffton Beautiful clean-up crew.
On the day of this photo, the crew worked diligently near the corner of Grove and Jackson. Part of a pack of 25 or so turkey vultures who adopted Bluffton several years ago, they are a consummate scavenger, cleaning up the countryside one bite of their sharply hooked bill at a time, and never mussing a feather on their bald heads.
