Still time to sign up for T-ball and lots of other summer BFR activities
There is still time to sign-up for several summer classes and activities at Bluffton Family Recreation, according to Joseph Beagle, director.

T-ball
T-ball for youth ages 5 to 7 takes place from July 11 to Aug. 10. Games are Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Bluffton village park. T-ball is open to boys and girls. Players will develop hitting off tee, throwing and catching skills with intramural team play. Jerry Lewis Family McDonald’s sponsors the summer league.
Laffalot Camp
Laffalot Camp takes place Monday through Friday, July 10-14. It offers youth ages 6 to 12 a week of fun-filled activities. Camp is held from 9 a.m. to noon. Led by well-trained counselors, campers will spend the day playing high-energy sports and games that help them:
• Develop teamwork
• Build whole body coordination
• Learn sportsmanship
• Enjoy friendly competition.
Adventure camps
Two youth adventure camps are set in July and August for youngsters from ages 3 1/2 to 6.
Adventure Camp I -Theme: Sports Galore Tuesday-Wednesday, July 25-26
10 to 11:30 a.m.
$12 for members; $20 for non-members

Adventure Camp II - Theme: Disney Fun Tuesday-Wednesday, Aug. 8-9

Art camps
BFR offers a two-day session for young artists on Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 1-2. This “Art Creator” opportunity is for youths who have completed grades 1, 2, 3 and 4. Our instructor holds a degree in art education. The class must have four youth registered. The cost, which includes snacks and art supplies, is $20 for members and $30 for non-members. Class time is from 3 to 5:15 p.m. each day.
Summer Yoga
Yoga classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. through Aug. 10. Erica Sheehan leads the classes. No classes take place the weeks of July 4 and July 11.
Yoga for youth
A yoga for youth and adults is offered through Aug. 4. It’s free for children whose parents are enrolled in the morning class. It is offered Fridays from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
3v3 soccer tournament
Two 3-on-3 soccer tournament are set this summer. The first is Saturday, June 24. The second is Saturday, July 29. It has two divisions including high school and adults.
Coed softball tourney
BFR teams up with Bluffton-Pandora Youth for Christ for a double-elimination coed softball tournament held in the Pandora Park, Saturday, June 24, at 9 a.m.
There is room for eight teams in this second annual tournament. The event includes a home run derby and yard games and picnic for families. All proceeds from the tourney go to both YFC and BFR.
SilverSneakers
Healthway SilverSneakers Fitness is for older adults and involves regular physical activity. Each class session lasts 45 minutes held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:15 a.m.
The sessions not only force movement, but also help participants who have joint pain and arthritis issues. Sessions enable participants to strengthen bones and muscles, improve balance, reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, reduce stress and enhance mood. The program is designed for older adults offered through Medicare health plans at no additional cost.
Pickleball
Silver Sneakers pickleball is also underway. Play takes place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Pickleball is free for Silver Sneakers members, and $2 for non-Silver Sneakers members.

• Sundays, 1 to 5 p.m.
