Pleasant View hosts soup benefit for Owen Weaver
Pleasant View United Methodist Church, Bluffton, will host their annual Soup Benefit on Sunday, Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. at the church. The public is invited to this benefit meal.
The benefit will include numerous types of soup, breads and desserts and beverages. It is by donation. Proceeds from the benefit are for Owen Weaver, born Aug.14, 2007.
Eight weeks later, his life dramatically changed forever. Owen became extremely ill and was diagnosed with Pneumococcal Meningitis. The Meningitis caused a significant amount of brain damage; which in turn caused multiple other problems for him, including Blindness, Diabetes Insipidus, Myoclonic Seizures, Cerebral Palsy and Global Developmental Delays.
He is currently on an extremely strict diet called the Ketogenic Diet that has helped control his seizures.
He is the son of Chad and Melissa Weaver.
The church is located at 300 Twp. Road 37, just north of Bluffton.
