Barbara Engle, 1937-2017
Barbara Ann Engle, 79, died on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at 4:40 p.m. at Willow Ridge, Bluffton.
She was born on Dec. 10, 1937, in Auglaize County, Ohio, to the late Frank and Thelma (Hadsel) Underwood.
On Aug. 20, 195,5 Barbara married Phillip E. Engle and he preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 1998.
Barbara formerly worked for Essex Wire of Kenton.
She later retired from the Allen County Children Services, Lima.
Barbara was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren of Harrod and a former member of the Order of Eastern Stars of Waynesfield.
She is survived by a son: Steve Engle of LaFayette; three daughters: Melany (Bill) Stokes of Lakeview, Donella Engle of Bluffton and Sondra (Timothy) Amstutz of Bluffton; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Engle of Elida; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn (Bob) Staup of Chiliquin, Ore.; and a brother-in-law, Merlin Barnt of Waynesfield.
She was preceded in death by her two sons: Greg Engle and James Engle; and a sister, Joyce Barnt.
Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at County Line Church of the Brethren, 4227 North Hardin Road, Harrod, with Pastor Thomas Dearth officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Westminster.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 6, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the County Line Church of the Brethren, 4227 North Hardin Road, Harrod, Ohio 45850.
