Ed Yeager is BFR's volunteer of the year
Ed Yeager was named Bluffton Family Recreation volunteer of the year earlier this month, according to Daniel Tinch, BFR executive director.
“Ed has helped in several area in the past year,” said Tinch. “His volunteer work includes countless hours working with BFR’s finances and helping wherever he is needed.”
This is the first-ever presentation of a BFR volunteer of the year award. Tinch said that he intends to make in an annual presentation.
Yeager’s award was presented during the Dueling for Dumbbells, an evening fundraiser benefiting BFR.
In addition to Yeager’s volunteer efforts with BFR he is president of the Bluffton Community Assistance Board, which operated the Bluffton food pantry. He served many years as vice president of the Bluffton Housing Corp. and is also active in St. John’s United Church of Christ.
He and his wife, Nancy, live in Bluffton.
