Andrew Renner HCAC men’s basketball player of the week
Junior guard Andrew Renner (Cairo/Bath) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week after leading the Beavers to wins over Defiance and HCAC-leading Rose-Hulman.
Renner bucketed 20.0 PPG and pulled down 7.5 RPG while going a perfect 8-of-8 at the line. It marked the second time this season that Renner has been named the HCAC Player of the Week. Bluffton's win was just the third Beaver victory over Rose in the last 13 meetings and it created a logjam at the top of the conference with Hanover, Transylvania, RHIT and Bluffton all knotted at 6-2 heading to the final game of round one. Renner leads the Heartland with 7.9 RPG and his 20.4 PPG are second to 2018 HCAC Player of the Year Cam Fails.
Bluffton travels to Manchester on Wednesday night before Transylvania comes to town on Saturday, Jan. 19, for a 4 p.m. HCAC showdown.
