Darrell White was a retired aircraft inspector for U.S. Air

Darrell Elden White, 86, died Nov. 24, 2019, at Hilty Memorial Home in Pandora.  Darrell was born April 6, 1933, in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, to the late Richard and Gertrude Louise (Hughes) White.  On Feb. 4, 1956, he married H. Patricia (Witherup) White and she preceded him in death on May 29, 1976.  He later married Mary Linn (Kempf) White on Sept. 24, 1983, and she survives in Pandora. 

Darrell graduated from St. Petersburg High School in St. Petersburg, Pennsylvania, and later Embry-Riddle College where he received his airplane mechanic license.  He  served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.   

Darrell was an aircraft mechanic and retired as an aircraft inspector for U.S. Air which is now American Airlines.  Darrell was a member of the Pandora United Methodist Church, the Pandora American Legion and the Ottawa VFW.  

Survivors also include a daughter, Lisa (Nick) Padovano of Powell, Ohio; a daughter in law, Elisabet White of southern California; three granddaughters, Kelcie White and Angela Padovano both of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jessie Padovano of Powell, Ohio, and a sister, Francene (Dean) Wolfgong of Dade City, Florida.

Darrell was preceded in death by a son, Christopher White; and two brothers, Darwin White and Walter White.  

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday. Dec. 2, at Pandora United Methodist Church.  Pastors Duane Kemerley and Harry Scott officiating.  Burial will be in Harmon Cemetery near Gilboa where military rites will be held. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 - 6 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton and one hour prior to the service at the church.   

Memorial contributions may be made to Pandora United Methodist Church, Putnam County Hospice or to the Wounded Warriors Project.
