Bluffton men's bball team enters HCAC tourney
The 2020 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Men's Basketball Championship will be held at Transylvania University Feb. 28-March 1.
Franklin College and Transylvania University both won a share of the regular season title, with 17-1 league marks, earning the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds.
Hanover College secured the No. 3 seed with Bluffton University claiming the No. 4 seed.
The No. 5 seed was awarded to Anderson University, while Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology claimed the last slot in the No. 6 seed.
The quarterfinal rounds of the Championship will be held on Friday, Feb. 28, at Transylvania University.
No. 4 Bluffton will host No. 5 Anderson at 6 p.m. while No. 3 seed Hanover will face off against the No. 6 seed Rose-Hulman at 8 p.m., both in the Clive M. Beck Center.
The winning teams from Friday night's contest will advance to face the No. 1 and 2 seeds. The winner of the Anderson/Bluffton contest will face off against the No. 1 seed Transylvania on Feb. 29 at 5 p.m. The winner of the Hanover/Rose-Hulman game will advance to face the No. 2 seed Franklin on Feb. 29 at 7 p.m.
The Men's Basketball Championship will be held on March 1, with tip off set for 12:30 p.m. in the Clive M. Beck Center on the campus of Transylvania.
The winners of the HCAC Championship will receive the conference's automatic qualifying bid and advance to the 2020 HCAC Men's Basketball Championship.
