Beaverdam Bunch 4-H Club meetings underway

The Beaverdam Bunch 4-H Club has had a few meetings this spring. At our March meeting, we elected the following officers:  President, Andrew Hoff; Vice-President, Emily Schwager; Secretary, Emily Swisher; Treasurer, Brayton Businger; Safety Officer, Deven Pate; Health Officer, Brianna Keeler; Recreation Leaders, Nicholas Jebsen & Tanner Schultz; and News Reporter, Rebekah Hoff.

Six youth confirmed at Trinity Lutheran on Sunday

Six youths will be confirmed in the Christian faith in the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday, May 4, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera.

The Confirmands are Sarah Elizabeth Curth, Abigail Elizabeth Heldman, Kylie Nicole Rausch, Aimee Grace Ritter, Eric Joseph Ritter, and Savannah Elizabeth Stahl. The class hymn, “In Christ Alone” will be sung by the class during the service.

NEWS FROM JEANNE:
We are working on some new ideas and will be opening a few evenings during the week. We also have a Hungarian meal coming up in the middle of May with a guest chef from Hungary to prepare the meal.

Our Italian festival is also being planned and will be advertised soon.

Here's the May Day-commmencement weekend schedule

Bluffton University announces May Day and commencement activities May 1 to May 4.    Events are free and open to the public unless noted otherwise. The events follow:

May 1

May Day Musical: “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” 7:30 p.m., Founders Hall. Tickets, $13 for reserved seats and $5 for general-admission bleacher seats, are available online at http://tickets.bluffton.edu or in person from 2-4 p.m. weekdays at the Sommer Center box office.

Shannon Service Club seeks flag sponsors

The Shannon Service Club of Bluffton is again inviting you to help decorate the Main Street of Bluffton with American flags flying in the wind. These bright red, white and blue pennants have already added a touch of colorful decor to our Bluffton Community this spring.

The King Pin

"Can we teach it to bowl?" asks John Dailey (left) and Derek Dukes (center) of Southgate Lanes. Roger Hoffman holds trout number 1 as Jerry Edinger (far right) places the tag. The famous fish is called "The King Pin." Bluffton Sportsmen's Club honors the bowling alley with tagged trout number 1 this year. This year's derby is Sunday, May 4. On Monday the club stocked the quarry with 600 pounds of trout. Click here for all the details.
