Peter Neuenschwander, a younger brother of the first Swiss settler in the Bluffton settlement, Michael Neuenschwander, came to America with his wife, Anna Marie Kammeter, and their children. They first settled in Virginia and later moved to rural Bluffton.
We have information on only two of their children, Catharine and Elizabeth.
Catherine, at 19, married David Stauffer and they had 9 children and lived in rural Berne, Indiana. Several years later they returned to Ohio, settling on what was known as the Stauffer farm four miles south of Bluffton.
Elizabeth married John Ulrich Badertscher at age 23 and they had 10 children and we have information on 5 of them.
