Bluffton women bested by Mt St. Joseph
The Bluffton University women's soccer team found itself on the wrong end of a 7-0 final score at Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021. Bluffton dipped to 4-6 overall and 1-2 in the Heartland Conference, while MSJ improved to 6-7 with a perfect 3-0 mark in conference play.
The home team scored three goals in a 10-minute span midway through the first half and never looked back as the Lions tacked on four more tallies in the second stanza. McKenzie Schneeman made her case for HCAC Player of the Week with four straight goals on Wednesday under the lights.
MSJ racked up a 27-4 advantage in shots, including a 13-1 spread on frame. The Lions forced 10 more corner kicks (12-2) but Bluffton doubled up its counterparts with a 14-7 margin on fouls.
Bluffton will travel south on Interstate 75 again on Saturday, Oct. 9, when the Beavers head to Transylania as part of a women's and men's double feature with the Pioneers. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. in Lexington, Ky.
