COVID-19 vaccine booster shots available through Allen County Public Health
Allen County Public Health now has all vaccine boosters available at their vaccine clinics. The FDA and CDC have authorized a single booster dose for the three COVID-19 vaccines available in the United States–Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson–to strengthen protection against serious outcomes from COVID-19. Individuals are now able to get a booster of either vaccine regardless of which brand was used for their primary series of shots. Eligibility is as follows:
If you received a Pfizer or Moderna series you can get a booster 6 months after your primary series if you are:
Age 65 years and older
Age 18 or older and live in long-term care settings
Age 18 or older and have underlying medical conditions
Age 18 or older and work or live in high-risk settings
If you received a Johnson & Johnson vaccine you can get a booster after 2 months if you are:
Age 18 years or older
ACPH continues to offer 1st and 2nd doses of Moderna and Pfizer vaccine, and single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccines in addition to booster doses. Clinics are held on Mondays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. in the former Elder-Beerman store at the Lima Mall. Participants should enter the vaccine clinic through the east doors of the parking lot (across from the car dealership on North Cable Road).
Flu shots can be given at the same time and will also be available to participants attending the COVID-19 vaccine clinics, with walk-ins available for both vaccines. Appointments are strongly recommended but not required and can be made at gettheshot.coronvirus.ohio.gov. For assistance making appointments without going on-line, please call 419-228-4636.
