Kleman claims two victories at Anderson

The Bluffton University women's swimming team cut over three hours off its travel time on Saturday, Nov. 13, when their meet scheduled for Hanover was pushed north to Anderson University.

Senior Brooke Kleman (Glandorf/Ottawa-Glandorf) powered a Bluffton team that was just 10 points away from a second-place finish. She took first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a school-record time of 1:14.46 and she followed that up with victory in the 100-yard IM, also etching her name in the record book with a time of 1:06.85!

The 200-yard medley relay, consisting of Kleman, MacKenzie Martin (Hartville/Lake), Stacey Chirewa (Harare, Zimbabwe) and Isabel Miller (Dayton/Centerville) took 3rd in 2:25.31, while the 200-yard freestyle relay of Chirewa, Grace Branson (Carlisle), Flor Avilez (Santa Lucia, Honduras/Dowal School) and Alejandro Valenzuela (Lima, Honduras/Santa Maria del Valle) came in 4th with a time of 2:32.79.

The women will continue to train throughout the holiday season before returning to action at Manchester University on Saturday, Jan. 15, at 1 p.m.
