BHS volleyball rallies past Wildcats

The visiting Bluffton High School volleyball team outlasted Delphos Jefferson in a five-set Northwest Conference battle Thursday evening.
The Lady Pirates improved to 8-2 and 1-0 in the NWC with the 17-25, 25-6, 26-24, 27-29, 15-12 comeback triumph. DJ fell to 3-7 and 1-1 in the NWC with the defeat.
- Ayla Grandey led the victors with a season-high 23 kills. She added one ace and one block.
- Gracie Yarnell dished out 24 assists, hustled up 13 digs and dealt two aces.
- Kendall Stackhouse knocked down 15 kills.
- Kaylee Kinsinger contributed five kills and two blocks.
- Avery Talavinia mustered 26 digs and served one ace.
- Morgan Fruchey came up with 11 digs and served an ace.
- Olivia Hobensack passed out 22 assists and served one ace.
- Olivia Siferd came up with three blocks.
- Dyllan Worcester came up with 16 digs and added a block.
The Pirates also won the junior varsity match in straight sets.
Bluffton hosts much-improved local league rival Ada (7-4, 1-2 NWC) Tuesday, September 20. They then play at NWC foe Crestview (3-6, 1-1 NWC) Thursday, Sept. 22.
