Elaine R. Harris owned and operated Twin Lakes Campground
Elaine R. Harris, 83, passed away December 4, 2022 at Willow Ridge-Betty House, Bluffton. Elaine was born July 6, 1939 in McComb to the late Clarence and Florence (Russell) Eck. On November 14,1992 she married Robert Harris who preceded her in death on July 4, 2016.
Elaine was the owner/operator of KOA-Twin Lakes Campground near Mt. Cory with her husband and also worked at Phillips, RCA and Marathon Oil. She was a member of the Bluffton Trinity United Methodist Church. Elaine was a long time and very active member of the Bluffton Lions Club where she previously served on the board and received the 2011 Lions Club Citizen of the Year Award. She thoroughly enjoyed volunteering which led her to be active with the Bluffton Public Library Board, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce, S.H.A.N.N.O.N Club, Bluffton Senior Citizens, the Ohio Campground Owner's Association, the National ARVC, Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge of Findlay.
Survivors include three children, Joy (Skip) Burleson of Lima, Kenneth Gossard of Findlay, Kevin Gossard of Arlington; a daughter-in-law, Candace Gossard of Findlay; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd (Bonnie) Eck of Wisconsin; and two sisters, Edna (James) Davis of Tennessee and Phyllis Eck of Columbus, Ohio.
Elaine was preceded in death by two infant sons, Keith Gossard and Karl Gossard; a son, Kristopher Gossard; a brother, Lawrence Eck and two sisters, Marie Keifer and Clarice Roberts.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2022 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton with Pastor Gregg Fox officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Monday, December 12, 2022 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
